Introduction

This guide will teach you how to thread the Juki Sewing Machine. Improperly threading the machine will lead to malfunctions in usage.

If the thread is snapping while the machine is in use, make sure you are using nylon thread and that the needle is properly threaded.

If you have questions ask a facilitator.

  1. Insert the thread into the front hole in the thread arm. The thread from the spool should be pulled from the right, through the back of the arm, and down towards the top of the machine.
    • Insert the thread into the front hole in the thread arm.

Again inserting the thread from behind, pull the thread through the bottom hole and back up through the top hole of the metal thread guide on the top of the machine Next, pull the thread through the top hole and around through the back side of the lower metal thread guide. Next, pull the thread through the top hole and around through the back side of the lower metal thread guide.
    • Again inserting the thread from behind, pull the thread through the bottom hole and back up through the top hole of the metal thread guide on the top of the machine

    • Next, pull the thread through the top hole and around through the back side of the lower metal thread guide.

  3. Now you'll want to wrap the thread around the bottom of the thread tension knob, and up through both metal levers next to the tension knob. Then, pull the thread up through the first thread hook, located directly above the tension knob.
    • Now you'll want to wrap the thread around the bottom of the thread tension knob, and up through both metal levers next to the tension knob.

    • Then, pull the thread up through the first thread hook, located directly above the tension knob.

  4. Pull the thread up through the uptake lever and down through the second thread hook. Pull the thread up through the uptake lever and down through the second thread hook.
    • Pull the thread up through the uptake lever and down through the second thread hook.

  5. Pull the thread into the metal hook above the needle. Then, from the front, insert the thread through the circle on the needle shaft. Finally, pull the thread through the back of the needle. Make sure the needle is completely raised using the hand knob at the back of the machine.

  6. When threading the needle, you may find it useful to lower the presser foot to allow more space around the needle. This can be done by lowering the presser foot handle located behind the front of the machine.
